An old graveyard is situated across the road from the Granary
building in Michael St. This graveyard is somewhat hidden behind the buildings
in that street. A plaque in the graveyard states that this was probably
the site of a church in Norman times.

The graveyard was restored by the Limerick Civic Trust through
a Teamwork Youth Scheme in 1986. The oldest headstone that we found in
the graveyard was in memory of Catherine Barry who died on February 12
1766, aged 92. Many of the headstones in the graveyard are hard to read
as the inscriptions have faded away.
